Today we traveled from Tompkinsville, Kentucky to Buda, Texas. We left at Midnight at finally arrived around 8 pm Texas time. After 20 hours in an over-crowded van surrounded by plenty of teenage adventure, arriving at our destination was a welcome relief.
We made several stops today. First off, Mugs Cafe in Little Rock, Arkansas. The experience was quite charming. The atmosphere was very hipster and the food was delicious.
In the afternoon, we stopped at the Texas state welcome center and took a few pictures while also uploading a Facebook Live Video (by the way, if you haven't, go ahead and follow us by clicking on this link).
After more driving and lunch in Dallas, we made a special stop at Chip & Joanna Gaines' Magnolia Market in Waco. If you don't know who they are, they host a TV show on HGTV called Fixer Upper. They bought an old abandoned silo in their hometown and turned it into a all-for-everyone place that included food trucks, a store, and a bakery. It was a great surprise for our ladies (who definitely appreciated it more than the boys).
All told yesterday we traveled almost 1,000 miles across 4 different states. It was an exhausting journey but one well worth it. After we settled into Buda, we had dinner with one another and settled into a relaxing night of rest. Tomorrow, we'll be heading to worship in San Marcos with the University Church of Christ before a well-deserved fun afternoon along the San Antonio Riverwalk.
Our mission team will be complete tomorrow night around 5-7 pm with the arrival of the youth group from the Washington Avenue congregation. We plan to worship with them here at the children's home tomorrow night and then begin our work on Monday.
Thank you for your prayers and for following us along our grand adventure.
