previous Sermon Series - Idols

Idolatry is giving anything else what God inherently deserves. Don’t believe it only looks like a golden-calf. Sometimes it looks like your job, your hobbies, or even your family. Put God first, everything else second. As we explore the things we turn into idols, we’ll learn the problem doesn’t reside in those things, rather, our hearts. SINAI

When we think of idolatry, we often go back to the story of Israel at Mt. Sinai. Their impulsive actions give us a great example of what not to do in the presence of God.

Why do we let people becomes idols? Why do we replace the Creator with His creation? We’ve been doing it for a very long time and it all boils down to one issue - respect.

THINGS

Things get in the way. Why? Humans love objects, places, jobs, and everything that comes with them. In the end, we’ve got to remember things are temporary, God is eternal.
